Aurora Sober Living

Phase One Program

A Fresh Start. A Strong Foundation. A Path Forward.

Phase One at Aurora Sober Living is more than just housing, it’s a structured, supportive, and transformational program designed to help men and women in early recovery build the foundation they need for long-term sobriety.

We created Phase One because we know how difficult the first weeks of recovery can be. It can feel overwhelming to balance responsibilities, stay accountable, and avoid old patterns. Phase One removes those barriers by giving residents a safe, structured environment where recovery comes first.

The Goal of Phase One

The goal of Phase One is simple: to provide a safe and stable starting point where residents can focus on sobriety, build healthy habits, and prepare for the next chapter of their lives. With the right balance of accountability, coaching, and compassion, Phase One gives every resident the opportunity to start fresh and move forward with confidence.

What is Phase One?

Phase One is a short-term, high-structure program that allows residents to focus fully on themselves and their recovery. Residents live in one of our dedicated Phase One homes, Banks, Hope, Clarity, or Empowerment, where they are supported by peer coaches, staff, and fellow residents.

The program lasts up to 60 days with a required 30-day review. During this time, residents follow a structured daily schedule that includes peer recovery coaching, daily groups, relapse prevention, life skills development, UA/BA testing, and a 9:00 PM curfew. Through the Achieve Whole Recovery kiosk, residents also have access to therapy, psychiatric care, and medication management as needed.

By the end of the program, residents are expected to have a transition plan in place, whether that’s employment, education, or another structured schedule, and be fully prepared to move into Phase Two, where they begin paying rent and building independence while still supported in their recovery.

Why Phase One Matters

Early recovery is fragile, and accountability is essential. Phase One ensures that no one has to do it alone. Residents live in a community, encourage each other through struggles, and celebrate victories big and small. The structure, combined with genuine peer support, helps residents build confidence, develop healthy habits, and experience the joy of sober living.
