I am 36 years old and started using when I was 17 and spent a lot of time homeless or in jail.

My sober date is on 8/16/22 and then went to sober living and started working, now I am married, and we have a baby.

I want to help people overcome their struggles by sharing my experience and helping with resources.

Jenna Horton, Peer Recovery Coach

It wasn’t until I had knee surgery at the age of 24 that I became dependent and then addicted. I have been sober since July 17, 2022 and entered Zen Mountain Sober Living in August of that year and have been sober since! Sobriety has given my fiancé and me a second chance at a healthy and happy life and for me, the only way I can maintain my sobriety is to give it away and help others on to the path that I have grown to love! I would not be sober without love and support and I know I can help others the way I was helped!

Recovery Coaching Aurora
Timothy DeWeese
QBHA

My name is Timothy DeWeese. I am 57 years old, cancer survivor and am currently a recovering alcoholic and drug addict of 25+ years. I have had a long career of drinking, then at the end I turned to drugs. It was not until I entered the Stout Street Foundation 2 Year TC until I was able to find out why I used it as a way to cope with life. After a long battle of use and destruction of family and life I was able to use the tools that I learned to develop a way to live life without using. I now have a strong passion for recovery and know that by doing the right thing, life is possible without using. I also have a new found relationship with both of my kids. At this point in my recovery for almost 5years clean I just want to be able to give back to those in early recovery by sharing my experience, strength and hope as well as do my best to help stop the cycle of relapse and addiction. I now have hope and goals in my life that I never thought possible in my addiction. I have friends and a huge support network, as well as people that look up to me and I have a new sense of self worth and love for myself that is unsurpassed to none.

Aurora Sober Living employs a team of six certified Peer Recovery Coaches, each with a solid foundation in their own recovery journey. These individuals hold professional certifications and are dedicated to supporting others on their path to sobriety.

Our network includes 12 sober living homes in Aurora, Colorado, with each home being assigned a Peer Coach. Depending on which home you are placed in, you will be designated a Peer Coach who will work closely with you throughout your recovery. While you are always welcome to continue working with your personal Peer Coach, we provide the additional service of in-house coaching for your convenience and support.

Initially, you will meet with a Peer Recovery Coach for an intake session, during which your needs and goals will be assessed. After the intake, the coach will work with you on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, depending on the level of support you require and the type of guidance you’re seeking.

You’ll develop a personal relationship with your designated coach, who will assist with scheduling appointments, offer support when needed, or simply be available if you need someone to talk to. The coach will work with you to find times that fit both your schedule and theirs.

In addition to one-on-one coaching, your designated coach will also lead weekly group sessions with the entire house, providing a supportive environment for collective growth and shared learning.

All Peer Recovery Coaching services will be billed through the individual’s insurance. This means that, depending on your insurance coverage, the costs for coaching sessions may be partially or fully covered. If you have questions about how billing will work or need assistance with insurance-related matters, your coach or our administrative team will be happy to help guide you through the process.
